Obi

きもの帯​ - Japanese obi (kimono belts) make for great interior decor! The most obvious and beautiful use for them is table or console runners. They can also be used as wall hangings, plant pot wraps, or fabric for your own projects, such as cushion covers, bags, or clothing items. However, the material is thick and tricky to work with; the backings may have to be removed for use with standard sewing machines. The obi I purchase in Japan for resale on Etsy are all vintage and therefore have wear; there may be minor scuffs and imperfections, slight stains and smells, and even some dethreading. I do my best to disclose these through photos and descriptions. Most of my stock has been relocated to Canada and ships from there. Below is a large sampling from my collection:
